About K. Heather Devine

Heather joined Tarrant, Gillies & Shems in 2021.  Her practice areas include estate planning, elder law, guardianship, probate, real estate, business and nonprofit formation, civil litigation, and appellate law.      

Heather graduated from Vermont Law School summa cum laude and was admitted to the Vermont Bar in 2017. She clerked for three years for Chief Justice Reiber at the Vermont Supreme Court. Following her clerkship, she worked for one year at a law firm in southern Vermont. Her career prior to law school was varied and ranged from working in the nonprofit sector to research and publishing.

Heather currently serves as the President of the Washington County Bar Association.  She is a member of the Vermont Bar Association, the National Academy of Law Attorneys (NAELA), and NAELA – Vermonter chapter.  She also serves as a member of the Vermont Judicial Conduct Board.

Heather lives in Northfield with her family. When she is not working, she enjoys gardening, making cheese and yogurt from the milk of her family’s small herd of dairy goats, and exploring beautiful Vermont.
