Among other things, Mike enjoys both local and world travel, technology of all sorts, and baking. Mike lives in Montpelier with his wife and two children.
About Michael
Mike first joined Tarrant, Gillies, Richardson & Shems in 2015. Mike rejoined the firm in 2017 following a one-year clerkship with the Honorable Christina C. Reiss, Chief Judge, of the Federal District Court for the District of Vermont.
Mike represents a wide array of municipalities, individuals, and businesses. Mike’s practice involves most areas of general practice, but focuses on: municipal, zoning and land use, landlord and tenant, probate, real estate, and general civil litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, from 2012-2014 Mike worked as a judicial law clerk for the Vermont Superior Court in Caledonia, Essex, and Washington counties, from 2014-2015 as the law clerk to the Honorable Justice Harold E. Eaton, Jr. at the Vermont Supreme Court, and from 2016-2017 as a law clerk for the Honorable Christina C. Reiss, Chief Judge, of the Federal District Court for the District of Vermont.
Before attending Vermont Law School in 2009, Mike lived in Kyoto, Japan for seven years, teaching English as a second language.
